Higashiosaka City is located in Eastern Osaka (the literal translation of its name,) and is among the cities which will host the Rugby World Cup in 2019. The easiest way to get there is to by train or flight. As Osaka is the biggest metropolitan hub in the Kansai area, getting there is extremely convenient – taking only about 2 hours 30 minutes by train (Shinkansen, bullet train) or about a 1 hour and 10 minute flight from Tokyo.
2 Hours 30 Minutes from Tokyo Station to Shin-Osaka Station
Take the JR Tokaido Shinkansen directly to Shin-Osaka station for about 2 hours 30 minutes, covered by Japan Rail Pass.
Note that Japan Rail Pass cannot be used for travel on Nozomi trains on the Tokaido. However, both Hikari and Kodama trains included under the pass. If you take Hikari, the journey will be about 2 hours 50 minutes.
3 Hours 20 Minutes from Tokyo Station to Higashi-Hanazono Station
Higashi-Hanazono station is the closest station to the stadium. Take the JR Tokaido Shinkansen to Shin-Osaka station, and transfer to the JR Kyoto line to Osaka station for 4 minutes, then take JR Osaka Loop line to JR Tsuruhashi station for 16 minutes. Finally take Kintetsu-Nara line for 18 minutes, to get to Higashi-Hanazono station.
