Odawara Castle Park, a national historic site, is famous for its cherry blossoms, and is the center of sightseeing in Odawara, as many events are held throughout there year-round.

The Odawara Castle tower was renovated in 2016, and the exhibits were also updated. Video footage is now used to intuitively explain the history and culture of the region, something that is well-regarded by visitors.

You can also download a guided tour app on your smartphone. It supports English traditional and simplified Chinese.

The first floor of the Tokiwa Gate features a space where you can try on samurai armor and ninja outfits.
The Odawara Castle Historical Museum also lets you learn about the history of the area while experiencing what it was like to be a ninja (space slated to open in April 2019). There is lots to do and see here.

      Hakone Onsen

Hakone is famous throughout the country as a spa town which is easily accessible from Tokyo. It only takes1 hour and 25 minutes by train from Tokyo and the town is known for its magnificent views of Mount Fuji, and wonderful spas. The area is located on one of the five roads from the days of the Edo Period, making it a historical spa resort that has prospered along the Tokaido Line. In this area, there are many onsen, so the area is known as the 17 Hakone Hot Springs, naturally many onsen inns and resort hotels have been built up around the area, making this one of the best onsen spots in Japan. It may be difficult to choose one out of the large number of inns, but that is also part of the excitement of traveling. By all means, please find your favourite inn and enjoy the heart of Japanese hospitality, and have a wonderful and relaxing time in Hakone.

      The Hakone Open-Air Museum

This was Japan’s first open air museum, built in 1969.
The vast, 70,000 square meter space is dotted with 120 works by Rodin, Moore, Miró, and others.
The Picasso Pavilion houses a varied collection of 320 works that are gradually being shown to the public, among four other spaces. There are also open air art installations you can engage with.

Another plus is a natural hot springs source on the grounds. This has been repurposed into footbaths you can use. There is even a restaurant looking out on the hills of Hakone. You will find ample things to do throughout the day here.

      Tamadare Falls

These falls are 8 meters tall and 11 meters across. The clear water falls in slender and fine streams that resemble the autumn zephyrlily (tamasudare), which is where the falls got their name.
The splashing of the water also sounds exceedingly beautiful. You will spot the falls by the ceremonial shimenawa rope tied around them.
